1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms or conventions of real media products?
2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My magazine represents fans of chart music by it's use of bright eye-catching colours, and the business of the front cover image. Chart music is very busy and fun, it has to appeal to many music lovers, as chart varies, therefore I think the use of the colours is good at this, as it has blue, yellow, red and white mainly. The use of pictures on the contents page represent fans of chart well as there is a variety of pictures, appealing to different, smaller groups in the big chart fan group. For example, there is a picture of a guitarist, which will appear more to the rock fans, then there is a picture of a DJ which will appeal more to the dance fans. The double page spread, I think, would appeal to everyone, as most people like to know what is that week top songs. As the double page spread article is about the top 10, this makes me think it will appeal to most people, which is what magazines want.
